The Hayloft

What to Expect

ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRYSIDE

The Hayloft is a self-contained annexe of The Granary, a 200-year-old building that once housed grain, farm machinery and a piggery, and is now a characterful place to stay in the Wye Valley. The Hayloft is attached but separated from the main property by a connecting door that is locked throughout your stay.

Inside, the Hayloft retains everything that makes an old building worth restoring and a particulary feature is vaulted ceiling with exposed oak beams. There is a sense of quiet that is increasingly hard to find. It has been furnished simply, without fuss or distraction.

,

The Main Bedroom

A traditional four-poster bed, oak beams overhead, and underfloor heating underfoot. The double wardrobe is shared with the second room via internal access.

The Second Bedroom

A comfortable two-seater sofa that converts to a single sofa bed, ideal for a third guest who would prefer their own space. The room also serves as the sitting and kitchen area, with everything needed for light meals and relaxed evenings.

Bath & Shower

A full bathroom with both a bath and a walk-in shower, shared between the two rooms and entirely private to guests. Towels and amenities are provided

Kitchen & Eating

The Hayloft is set up for comfortable self-catering rather than full cooking. The kitchen area includes a microwave, toaster, fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities, everything needed for breakfast, light ready prepared meals and late-night snacks. Guests will find a welcome pack waiting which includes bread, butter and jams to get you settled in without needing to think about shopping for breakfast on the first evening. For full meals, the local pubs (Castlefields , the Red Lion and Pandy Inn) and Brobury House and Gardens (cafe) are within easy reach. Oakchurch Farm Shop at Staunton-on-Wye is ideal for stocking up on local produce. Alternatively, travel into Hay on Wye and seek out 'The Deli', an organic and local produce shop - another one of our favourites. You will also find some lovely local cafes in Hay, including the Granary, and Shepherds (they serve lovely local ice cream).
